My Activity at Home during Yogyakarta Trip

When all of my friends were visiting Yogyakarta to do field trip, i didn't join them. The reason why i didn't join them is because i was sick and i needed to take a full bed rest. The day before all of my friends went to Yogyakarta , I was brought by my mom to the doctor. By then, the doctor told me that i needed to take a rest and i couldn't join my friends to Yogyakarta. I felt really sad and disappointed
but there was nothing i could do, i had to follow the doctor's order and suggestions in order to get better.

I spent most of my time in sleeping, eating and watching television. I watched several movies and also read my novel and magazine. I was so bored and tired at home because there was nobody in my house to accompany me except my driver and my maid. They were also busy in doing their work. Besides, my brother was at school, studying. After school, he had to make his homework and doing his assignments so we couldn't talk much.

On the other hand, my mom and my dad were also busy working. So basically, that time, i had no idea what to do. But fortunately, i still could chat with my friends to know what they were doing. They were having so much fun, i was so happy for them. It was such a pity for me that i was ill that time, if i was able to maintain my health, perhaps i could join the trip.

After 2 days of resting, finally i recovered from my illness. I was able to do my activity again as in normal situation. That day, my friends were coming back from Yogyakarta and we would have school on Monday. I felt so enthusiastic about Monday, about going to school, even though usually i don't. I think that because I really wanted to meet my friends again, to come back to my daily routine. After days passed of regretting because i couldn't join them, i realised that the doctor was right. If i forced myself to join the trip, probably my body will get worse which would lead to another bigger problem. On Monday i could go to school, study, and do my normal activities again.

Open House 2015

Last Friday and Saturday , SMPK1 held an open house. Open house is an event which is done every 2 years. Each class had a stand and give service. Our class, 8A collaborating with 8E made a labyrinth. The labyrinth called PHASMOPHOBIA, all of us felt very excited for this event. We prepared the materials for the labyrinth, we collected our money and decorated the class. Fortunately we got quite impressive profits. Besides, people especially students who played the felt  satisfied with our labyrinth.

There were so many stands in the open house, so many people came, from children to adults. There was also an exhibition for subjects and class programs. I did the demonstration for science experiment in the DCP stand. Many parents who were curious came to our stand and asked about the DCP program. Starting from the subjects until the teachers.

The open house went great, from the stands, classes, exhibition, until the performances. I believe that the teachers felt proud for the students' jobs.

My Holiday

Last holiday, me and my family went to Japan. We felt really excited about this trip. We arrived at the airport in Tokyo in the morning and our journey started. We went to Sky Tree which was the highest building in Tokyo that allow us to look the beautiful sight of the city. After that we went to Asakusa Temple and Madam Tussaud's wax museum. Late at night, we went to our hotel and stayed there for a rest.
The next day, we went to Tokyo Disneyland. Tokyo Disneyland was so adorable. I really enjoyed the view there and also the parade that happened every single hour. Among all of the games, Star Tour was my favourite. Besides, i also really like the Haunted House game.
The third day, we went to Tokyo Disneysea. Tokyo Disneysea was very different with Disneyland even though their names are similar. But personally, i liked Disneysea more since Disneysea was much bigger and it had a really beautiful view. On the other hand, Disneysea wasn't as crowded as Disneyland which made us feel more comfortable.
The very next day, we took the Shinkansen train which was really fast to move to Osaka. We visited the Kawaguchi Lake and Mountain Fuji. Our family really enjoyed the view and the atmosphere there. It was relaxing and made us loose our stress.
On the fifth day, we went to Universal Studio which was basically my favourite place in the whole trip. There was Jaws, Water World, Jurassic Park, Spiderman, Terminator, and many more. But actually, the thing that made me very happy and excited to be there was Harry Potter Wizarding World since I basically really like Harry Potter especially the movie. The surrounding there was exactly the same as in the movie. I really enjoyed it.
During the last day of our stay, we went to such different shopping centre. We bought some stuff and also souvenir before we went back to Indonesia. This holiday was very unforgettable and really fun.

Baking Tips

Read before you bake – It helps if you are baking a recipe for the first time to thoroughly read through the recipe so that you understand all the steps, and have all of your tools, pans and ingredients lined up. Otherwise, you may end up halfway through your recipe, only to realize that you have to run next door for your missing ingredient!
Bake with the finest ingredients – Your desserts will only be as tasteful as the ingredients that go into making them. Using only the freshest ingredients for dairy, such as eggs, butter or milk, as well as fresh fruits and spices, will give you the best results.
Room temperature – Remember to bring refrigerated items like butter, eggs, and cream cheese to room temperature before you start to assemble your recipes. Average indoor room temperature is usually 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C), so adjust according to any weather related extremes. A good idea is to take those ingredients out of the refrigerator at least a of couple hours before you plan to bake. If you forgot to take the eggs out, and you need to use them right away, take the chill out by dipping them in a bowl of warm water. For butter, cut into chunks, and at room temperature, it will soften in about 15 minutes.
Measure accurately – Be certain that your measurements are accurate and consistent. Use metal or plastic measuring cups for dry ingredients, and glass or clear plastic for liquids. Use calibrated measuring spoons – not table utensils – to measure dry ingredients.
Fluff up flour or confectioners' sugar – Before you spoon flour into a dry measuring cup, use a fork to fluff up the flour. Then level it in the measuring cup with a butter knife. Also fluff confectioners' sugar before you spoon into a measuring cup
How to pack brown sugar – To firmly pack brown sugar into your measuring cup, as the cup fills, press the sugar down firmly with a spoon or your fingers, and then level off with a butter knife or with the top of a flat spatula. The brown sugar should just hold its shape when turned out of the cup.
Mix it right – Dry ingredients should be combined together thoroughly in one bowl before you combine them with liquids.
Gentle with pie crust and other pastry dough – After you add liquid to the dough, handle it gently and use only a dusting of flour on the rolling pin or counter. Too much handling and/or flour results in a tough pie crust. Letting the dough rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes makes it easier to handle. Use as few firm strokes as possible when rolling.
The right pan size – Always use the pan size called for in a recipe to avoid burning or over brimming when baking. To calculate the pan’s width, measure across the top from inside edge to inside edge.
Always bake at the correct temperature – Be sure to accurately preheat the oven. Then closely monitor the oven thermometer to maintain a consistent temperature. Try not to open the oven door; use the oven light instead to check on your baking. If you have opened the oven door, you may need to increase the baking time.
Let the air circulate – When you place your pans in the oven, place them in the middle of the center oven rack to allow for air circulation.
Is it done yet? – To be certain if your baked item is done, carefully insert a cake tester or wooden toothpick into the middle of the dessert. Be careful not to insert it into any moist ingredient like jam or jelly. Your dessert is ready to enjoy when the tester comes out clean.
Cool it – Just because it’s out of the oven doesn’t mean you’re done. Cooling time is also key to your end result. Some recipes call to cool completely on a wire rack. This is important, because if you leave the item in the pan, the heat from the pan will continue to bake it to the point where it gets overdone.

Method
Prep:20min  ›  Cook:2min  ›  Ready in:22min

  1. Spread 4 slices of bread with half of the mayonnaise. Divide the shredded lettuce among the slices, then add the sliced chicken breast.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan and dry fry the strips of Parma ham for 1–2 minutes or until crisp and curly. Pile on top of the chicken and season with pepper (the ham is salty). Spread mayonnaise on another 4 slices of bread and put these, mayonnaise-side down, on the chicken and ham.
  3. Mash the avocado flesh with the lime juice. Divide among the sandwiches, spooning onto the bread and spreading out roughly. Top with the chopped orange, watercress, alfalfa sprouts and pumpkin seeds. Put the final slices of bread on top. Press down gently, then cut each sandwich in half or into quarters for serving.

Some more ideas

Use mustard and cress if alfalfa sprouts are not available. * Use reduced-fat mayonnaise to cut down on the fat even more. * Replace the orange with dry-pack sun-dried tomatoes, rehydrated in water and then finely chopped. * Substitute chopped chicory leaves for the watercress. * For fruity chicken club sandwiches, replace the top deck of avocado, orange, watercress, alfalfa sprouts and pumpkin seeds on each sandwich with 1 tbsp crunchy peanut butter, 1/2 sliced banana sprinkled with a little lemon juice, 2 fresh dates, skinned and chopped, and 1 tsp chopped parsley.
Biography of Albert Einstein

Einstein is very famous of his smartness and intelligence. Albert Einstein was born at Ulm, in Württemberg, Germany, on March 14, 1879. Six weeks later the family moved to Munich, where he later on began his schooling at the Luitpold Gymnasium. Later, they moved to Italy and Albert continued his education at Aarau, Switzerland and in 1896 he entered the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School in Zurich to be trained as a teacher in physics and mathematics. In 1901, the year he gained his diploma, he acquired Swiss citizenship and, as he was unable to find a teaching post, he accepted a position as technical assistant in the Swiss Patent Office. In 1905 he obtained his doctor's degree. Albert Einstein received honorary doctorate degrees in science, medicine and philosophy from many European and American universities. During the 1920's he lectured in Europe, America and the Far East, and he was awarded Fellowships or Memberships of all the leading scientific academies throughout the world. He gained numerous awards in recognition of his work, including the Copley Medal of the Royal Society of London in 1925, and the Franklin Medal of the Franklin Institute in 1935.Einstein's gifts inevitably resulted in his dwelling much in intellectual solitude and, for relaxation, music played an important part in his life. He married Mileva Maric in 1903 and they had a daughter and two sons; their marriage was dissolved in 1919 and in the same year he married his cousin, Elsa Löwenthal, who died in 1936. He died on April 18, 1955 at Princeton, New Jersey.
Biography of Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa was the founder of the Order of the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic congregation of women dedicated to helping the poor. She lived in 19910-1997
In February 1965, Pope Paul VI bestowed the Decree of Praise upon the Missionaries of Charity, which prompted Mother Teresa to begin expanding internationally. By the time of her death in 1997, the Missionaries of Charity numbered over 4,000—in addition to thousands more lay volunteers—with 610 foundations in 123 countries on all seven continents.
The Decree of Praise was just the beginning, as Mother Teresa received various honors for her tireless and effective charity. She was awarded the Jewel of India, the highest honor bestowed on Indian civilians, as well as the now-defunct Soviet Union's Gold Medal of the Soviet Peace Committee. And in 1979, Mother Teresa won her highest honor when she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of her work "in bringing help to suffering humanity."
Controversy
Despite this widespread praise, Mother Teresa's life and work have not gone without criticism. In particular, she has drawn criticism for her vocal endorsement of some of the Catholic Church's more controversial doctrines, such as opposition to contraception and abortion. "I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion," Mother Teresa said in her 1979 Nobel lecture.
In 1995, she publicly advocated a "no" vote in the Irish referendum to end the country's constitutional ban on divorce and remarriage. The most scathing criticism of Mother Teresa can be found in Christopher Hitchens' book The Missionary Position: Mother Teresa in Theory and Practice, in which Hitchens argued that Mother Teresa glorified poverty for her own ends and provided a justification for the preservation of institutions and beliefs that sustained widespread poverty
White Fang Summary

Two men are out in the wild of the north. Their dogs disappear as they are lured by a she-wolf and eaten by the pack. They only have three bullets left and Bill, one of the men, uses them to try to save one of their dogs; he misses and is eaten with the dog. Only Henry and two dogs are left; he makes a fire, trying to drive away the wolves. They draw in close, and he is almost eaten, saved only by a company of men who were traveling nearby.
The wolves are in the midst of a famine. They continue on, lead by several wolves alongside the she-wolf, and when they finally find food the pack starts to split up. The she-wolf mates with one of the wolves and has a litter of pups. Only one survives after several more famines, and he grows strong and is a feisty pup.
They come to an Indian village where the she-wolf's (who is actually half-wolf, half-dog) master is. He catches her again and White Fang, her pup, stays nearby. Soon, she is sold to another Indian, while White Fang stays with Gray Beaver, her master. The other dogs of the village terrorize White Fang, especially one named Lip-lip.
White Fang becomes more and more vicious, encouraged by his master. He kills other dogs. Gray Beaver goes to Fort Yukon to trade and discovers whiskey. White Fang is passed into the hands of Beauty Smith, a monster of a man. He fights other dogs until he meets his match in a bulldog and is saved only by a man named Scott.
Scott tames White Fang and takes him back to California with him. There White Fang learns to love his master and his master's family and even saves Scott's father from a criminal that escaped from the nearby prison. White Fang has puppies with Collie, one of the master's dogs, and lives a happy life.
The Red Badge of Courage Plot Summary

The Red Badge of Courage is a fictional psychological portrait of a young soldier named Henry Fleming, tracing the thread of his emotions and reactions to events that transpire during an unnamed battle of the Civil War. Henry is an average farm boy from upstate New York, who dreams of the glory of battle that he has read about in school. He has enlisted in the 304th New York regiment, which fights for the Northern (Unionist) forces.
The novel opens with Henry's regiment in camp by a river, where they have been for several months. Rumors of upcoming battle fly among the men but are largely unfounded, and the perpetual anticipation throws Henry into a bitter interior fight. He questions if he has the inner strength and courage to become a good soldier and is unsure whether or not it is in his realm of capability. He knows battle only through schoolbooks and soldiers' stories, and fears the possible ridicule of his peers, should he be deemed a coward by running from battle.
The northern army is finally put on the move and marched across the river, where they meet with Southern (Confederate) forces. Henry's regiment is initially put in a reserve position, and he is able to witness battle before actually coming in contact with it. Finally his regiment successfully repels a charge by the enemy, and Henry feels relief and elation at his feeling of success. The enemy charges again, however, and Henry flees, in the belief that his regiment will be overrun. This sends Henry on a long day's journey along the battle lines, in which he bitterly reproaches himself for running, but at the same time tries to justify what he has done. He witnesses battle, then journeys into the surrounding woods, where he finds a decaying dead man in a clearing. Running away from the body and back to the battle, Henry takes up with the procession of wounded men trudging to the army's rear for care. There he meets his friend Jim Conklin from his regiment, who has been shot in the side. He cares for Jim with another man, called the "Tattered Soldier," until Jim dies in a field. The Tattered Soldier's repeated questions regarding Henry's supposed injuries anger and embarrass Henry until he leaves the Tattered Soldier alone to die in a field, a fact that later haunts Henry.
Leaving the Tattered Soldier, Henry witnesses the charge and subsequent retreat of a Union regiment. The men retreat right through the spot from which Henry is watching the battle, and a man that he stops to ask questions about the charge hits Henry in the head with the butt of his rifle, injuring him. Having been wounded by his own comrade, Henry is only able to stumble toward the rear. He is later helped back to his depleted regiment by a cheerful soldier whose face he never sees. Back in camp, Henry meets up with another man from his regiment named Wilson. Henry senses an incredible psychological growth and maturation in Wilson since their first days in camp, and envies him. The two become great friends.
The next day the battle continues, and Henry's regiment is placed on the edge of some woods and ordered to defend it. Here Henry achieves the classic valor for which he has sought; he fights so hard and courageously that both his comrades and his command look up to him. Later, while looking for water, both Henry and Wilson overhear a general speaking poorly of their regiment, saying he can spare them for a charge because they fight so poorly. This angers them, and creates in Henry the desire to show up the command. The regiment is sent in to charge for the first time, and amid heavy casualties, Henry saves the regiment's flag when the color bearer is shot. He becomes, along with Wilson, the noncommissioned leader of his regiment. The charge essentially fails at first and Henry's regiment is forced to retreat. Then however, they are charged by a Confederate regiment, and Henry's regiment repulses them, eventually taking their regimental flag. Even though the generals reproach the regiment's command for failing in the charge, Wilson and Henry are considered heroes in the classic sense, at least externally.
Henry undergoes countless interior changes throughout his ordeal, which offset the externally visible accolades of courage that the others shower on him. His newfound manhood at the end of the battle is described as a strong, clearheaded confidence, a sense of self-assurance that he had never before felt in his endless internal bickering. The internal peace and calm is a far cry from what had first brought him to war - the idealistic Greek-like portrayals of valor and manhood that he had been exposed to only in books.
Odyssey Summary

Ten years after the fall of Troy, the victorious Greek hero Odysseus has still not returned to his native Itacha. A band of rowdy suitors, believing Odysseus to be dead, has overrun his palace, courting his faithful‹though weakening‹wife, Penelope, and going through his stock of food. With permission from Zeus, the goddess Athena, Odysseus' greatest immortal ally, appears in disguise and urges Odysseus' son Telemachus to seek news of his father at Pylos and Sparta. However, the suitors, led by Athena, plan to ambush him upon his return.
As Telemachus tracks Odysseus' trail through stories from his old comrades-in-arms, Athena arranges for the release of Odysseus from the island of the beautiful goddess Kalypso, whose prisoner and lover he has been for the last eight years. Odysseus sets sail on a makeshift raft, but the sea god Poseidon, whose wrath Odysseus incurred earlier in his adventures by blinding Poseidon's son, the Kyklops Polyphemos, conjures up a storm. With Athena's help, Odysseus reaches the Phaiakians. Their princess, Nausikaa, who has a crush on the handsome warrior, opens the palace to the stranger. Odysseus withholds his identity for as long as he can until finally, at the Phaiakians' request, he tells the story of his adventures.
Odysseus relates how, following the Trojan War, his men suffered more losses at the hands of the Kikones, then were nearly tempted to stay on the island of the drug-addled Lotos Eaters. Next, the Kyklops Polyphemos devoured many of Odysseus' men before an ingenious plan of Odysseus' allowed the rest to escape‹but not before Odysseus revealed his name to Polyphemos and thus started his personal war with Poseidon. The wind god Ailos then provided Odysseus with a bag of winds to aid his return home, but the crew greedily opened the bag and sent the ship to the land of the giant, man-eating Laistrygonians, where they again barely escaped.
On their next stop, the goddess Kirke tricked Odysseus' men and turned them into pigs. With the help of the god Hermes, Odysseus defied her spell and metamorphosed the pigs back into men. They stayed on her island for a year in the lap of luxury, with Odysseus as her lover, before moving on and resisting the temptations of the seductive and dangerous Seirenes, navigating between the sea monster Skylla and the whirlpools of Kharybdis, and plumbing the depths of Hades to receive a prophecy from the blind seer Teiresias. Resting on the island of Helios, Odysseus' men disobeyed his orders not to touch the oxen. At sea, Zeus punished them and all but Odysseus died in a storm. It was then that Odysseus reached Kalypso's island.
Odysseus finishes his story, and the Phaiakians hospitably give him gifts and ferry him home on a ship. Athena disguises Odysseus as a beggar and instructs him to seek out his old swineherd, Eumaios; she will recall Telemachus from his own travels. With Athena's help, Telemachus avoids the suitors' ambush and reunites with his father, who reveals his identity only to his son and swineherd. He devises a plan to overthrow the suitors with their help.
In disguise as a beggar, Odysseus investigates his palace. The suitors and a few of his old servants generally treat him rudely as Odysseus sizes up the loyalty of Penelope and his other servants. Penelope, who notes the resemblance between the beggar and her presumably dead husband, proposes a contest: she will, at last, marry the suitor who can string Odysseus' great bow and shoot an arrow through a dozen axeheads.
Only Odysseus can pull off the feat. Bow in hand, he shoots and kills the suitor Athena and reveals his identity. With Telemachus, Eumaios, and his goatherd Philoitios at his side, Odysseus leads the massacre of the suitors, aided only at the end by Athena. Odysseus lovingly reunites with Penelope, his knowledge of their bed that he built the proof that overcomes her skepticism that he is an impostor. Outside of town, Odysseus visits his ailing father, Laertes, but an army of the suitors' relatives quickly finds them. With the encouragement of a disguised Athena, Laertes strikes down the ringleader, Athenas' father. Before the battle can progress any further, Athena, on command from Zeus, orders peace between the two sides.
My Everything Album Review

Ariana Grande already reached her success from her first album "Yours Truly" with the best hit of her collaboration with Big Sean in the song "Right There". She decided to make her second album entitled My Everything. With variety of great songs such as Problem featuring Iggy Azalea, Bang Bang featuring Jessie J and Nicki Minaj, Love Me Harder, Only 1, One Last Time, My Everything, Just a Little Bit of Your Heart, Why Try, Break Your Heart Right Back, and Best Mistake.
For me, Ariana made greater efforts in her second album and she also got many awards from her songs in this album. She's also on her first world tour "Honeymoon Tour" promoting her second album.
Snow White and The Huntsman Movie Review

Snow White and The Huntsman is a film that made based on the classic story of Snow White. In the film's retelling of the tale, Snow White grows up imprisoned by her stepmother Ravenna, a powerful sorceress. After Snow White escapes into the forest, Ravenna tells Eric the Huntsman that she will bring back his dead wife if he captures Snow White. After the Huntsman shifts his loyalty to Snow White, Ravenna disguises herself and tempts Snow White into eating a poisoned apple. The film is directed by Rupert Sanders, his first feature film, and written by Evan Daugherty, Martin Solibakke, John Lee Hancock, and Hossein Amini.
This movie was played by Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Charlize Theron as Queen Ravenna, and Chris Hemsworth as huntsman.
Personally, i really like the movie because the story is really different from the story and it's more breathtaking and brilliant eventhough there's some part that is kind of confusing.
The Fault in Our Stars Book Review

The Fault In Our Star, the basis of the story is that a girl named Hazel who has cancer meets a boy named Augustus who she falls in love with. The two of them try to deal with cancer, love, and books. It's your average boy meets girl, girl has cancer, boy and girl talk about how a fictional book ends book. The whole story is beautifully written and is just breathtaking. The metatextual elements with references to the fictional book which the two are both a fan of (An Imperial Affliction) have a very Third Policeman–esque vibe to it, which, as a great fan of The Third Policeman was very enjoyable. I thought the plot was wonderful, the characters were absolutely believable and you do completely fall in love with them. Hazel and Augustus are fantastically drawn and the voice of them both is very funny and very well done. It is not a sick lit novel, despite having many of the trappings associated with the genre, it is a story about two people in love, one of whom has cancer. It also has a certain philosophical bent in which it discusses the meaning of life and death.
For me, the weakness of this book is the overusage bad language that John Green, the writer used, perhaps he wanted to emphasize the point but i don't think it works really well inside of the story.

Tom Sawyer Classic Start

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a wonderful book to read for anyone who loves classic stories.  It is about a naughty boy named Tom doing a lot of mischievous tricks and risky adventures. He has a brother named Sid and a sister named Mary. Aunt Polly, who takes care of Tom, loves him even though he is a firebrand. Huckberry Finn, whose nickname is Huck, is Tom’s best friend as well as the partner in all of his adventures.
One of Tom’s crazy adventures is when he and his friend were in a graveyard trying to revive a dead person with a dead cat at midnight. Before they begin their process they see three men, Muff Potter, Dr. Robinson, and Injun Joe in the same graveyard. They quickly hide behind the bushes because they do not want to be seen by the three men. Instead, they witnessed Injun Joe murder Dr. Robinson for revenge, and then Injun Joe accuses Muff Potter for the crime. So scared, Tom and Huck run to a shed and complete a blood oath that they will never talk about the crime scene to anyone or they will die and rot.
Besides going on adventures, Tom also likes to tricks the children to do his white washing (putting new coat of paint on his aunt’s fence) and trade his trinkets for the tickets that can be used to trade in for the Bible to impress the new girl, Becky Thatcher– when a student receives a Bible, it shows others that they had been a good student.
I think teenagers today are going to like The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Even though this book is a classic, there are still some naughty teenagers and they might want to read about how kids were in the 1800s.
Doctor Dolittle Novel Review

The Story of Doctor Dolittle was the first published book in the Doctor Dolittle series. The second one, The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle, won the Newbery medal in 1923. In the Story of Doctor Dolittle, we learn how he went from being a medical doctor for people to a doctor who treats, and talks to, animals. He achieved success in his new field, and then lost it by his insistence on providing a home for a crocodile that his human clients fear will eat their pets. Thus, Doctor Dolittle has little to lose when he learns that the monkeys in Africa need a doctor to help them deal with a contagious deadly disease. He takes the journey with his favorite animals, curing the monkeys while having many adventures both before and after that main event. As a reward for his efforts, the monkeys talk a pushmi-pullyu, a two headed deer-related creature, to go with the doctor so he can make his fortune by displaying it in England.
Personally, i really like this book since the story is really interesting and really fun to read, besides it also gives us great moral lessons such that we have to be loyal to our friends and friendship is more important than money.
I would like to recommend this book to children and teenagers because it gets bunch of great mooral lessons.

In the story, there are some symbols to support the story. Firstly, the cold breeze that symbolized frightening and gripping situation when Pip met the victim. Secondly, mist that represented the condition of obscurity. Then, the shadows that reminded us of the truths that are hidden and everything can happen far than the way we expected before. On the other hand, Miss Havisham’s messed garden also symbolized her ruined life because of her cancelled wedding. Furthermore, Miss Havisham’s rotting bridal cake and her yellowed wedding dress are symbolic of the wasted life of a once beautiful woman who was abandoned by her fiancee on her wedding day. Lastly, the Satis House which was an irony that made the reader perceive an unhappy and ungrateful life.

Great Expectations has a definite strengths in the story that keep building up the readers’ curiosity in every chapter .Great expectations also has a unique and different story from the others. The story also teaches us some lessons to learn.

Unfortunately, this book also has weaknesses such as the changing of the plot is too unrealistic and nonsense. On the other hand, the story is also too dramatic to be real and happen in our life.

This book teaches us that good deeds will come back to benefit you, just like Pip, When Pip helped the convict, he got a benefit from it because the convict made him to be a gentleman. Besides, it also told us that money can’t bring happiness, the only thing that can makes us happy is a loving relationship with our family.

I would like to recommend this book to my relatives since it has such moral lessons that we need in our life. And also I would like to recommend this book to my brother so he can learn to be helpful to others.

Easter Celebration

Last Monday, 6th of April 2015, all of SMPK1 students went to GKI Anugerah. We were having Easter Celebration which was really great since we could watch several performance from our friends. A few of our friends sang such a beautiful poem that made us speechless. Anyway, we also had a priest that told us that Easter is a very special day because our dear Lord, Jesus Christ was risen from death. The priest also told us about Sai Baba, the one who claimed to be the God but actually he's not. Sai Baba could make a miracle, for example walk on the surface of the water but he couldn't rise from his death. That's why Easter is really special, because it reminded us that our great Lord could rise from his tomb and His revival already brought joy to everyone that lived in the world.

Film Review

I would like to review a film that i just watched titled Cinderella. It's a live action or we can say the remake of the disney's cartoon that was made in 18th century. The remake of this glass slipper tale is good enough but unfortunately the story is the same with the old version. This movie was played by Lily James as Cinderella, Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine, Helena Bonham Carter as Fairy Godmother , and also Richard Madden as the one and only Prince Charming. The film that was directed by Kenneth Branagh was released on March the 13th. For me, the story is good and the setting of place was incredibly awesome. The live action version also explained the relationship between Cinderella and Prince Charming better than the cartoon version. It also tells us meaningful moral lessons which was have courage and be kind. I suggested this movie for the young until the old because this movie shows us great moral lessons and also this movie is very entertaining.
